[Review] Tonymoly Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack

This is my first review so here goes...

So a while back, my mom and my brother went to LA and she went and brought me back an assortment of facemasks for me. She also snagged me this super adorable product. It's Tonymoly Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack!! Isn't it cute?

Honestly speaking, I've been eyeing this product for a while and I was a bit surprised that she actually bought it for me. Where she bought it, it was grossly overpriced at around $17 (ah.. my poor mother) but you can easily find it on Beauteque for about $14.50 or even eBay for around $10. Prices aside, this product really caught my eye for two reasons:
1) The packaging. I'm a sucker for cute things and Tonymoly exploits this weakness.
2) The fact that it's a sleeping masks. I absolutely love sleeping masks simply because you put them on, you sleep, easy peasy!

Anyways, here's the description of the product from the web:
"Tonymoly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack is a lightweight overnight whitening cream. It will help to even out skin tone, lighten dark spots, and effectively moisturize the skin. The gel formula quickly absorbs into the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy feeling. There is no need to worry about it transferring to your pillow and it is perfect for all skin types!"**

So let's begin!

Design

I've said it before and I'll definitely say it again, the product design is the cutest!!

I suppose the only bad thing I can even think of for this might be that the mask didn't come with a spatula or any other kind of tool to help apply it. Instead, you have to actually scoop the product out with your fingers and then apply it and while I'm fairly sure this is pretty typical with masks and I'm not particularly picky about this kind of application, it can be a problem with some people. So long as you make sure not to get any kind of lint or dirt in the mask, you should be good!

Application

So the directions:
"On clean skin, apply all over face and let dry before bed. Wash off in morning."**

Simply enough, right? So after I finished my usual nighttime routine, I just went and applied it. The texture was very smooth and gel-like; it reminded me a bit of a cream or lotion. The smell is really nice, a bit floral and when applying it, it's very soothing.

One thing, though, that did surprise me was how fast the mask managed to absorb in my skin. As I said before, I've used sleeping masks before and I know that the none of the ones I've used previously dried quite so quickly. Timing it, it took less than two minutes to completely absorb!!

So what does this mean? Well, when using other sleeping masks, I, for one, am actually pretty afraid of turning in my sleep and getting product all over my pillow and with other masks that I've used, this seemed like a legitimate concern because even after a good 30 minutes, I could still feel some slickness of the product. This one is so lightweight, super absorbent, and so that's one less concern for me!

The only thing I was concerned about this mask was whether or not it'd actually fare well as a good moisturizer which brings us to the overall performance...

Performance

Now, I don't have particularly dry skin, but the mask did hydrate quite well for me.
However, I didn't buy this product for its hydrating effects; I bought it for the whitening effects. Since this is a whitening mask, I decided to wait a while before I actually made a review about it because it usually takes a while to actually see the results of a whitening product. And the results?

After a couple of applications, I did notice the lightened tone of my skin. It's not exactly whitening like they advertise, but rather leaves more of a brightening effect. Unfortunately, the effect doesn't seem to last too long so if you're looking for a brightening product with long term effects, this is not the product for you.

But while I was mainly analyzing my skin colour to see how good the product was at whitening my skin, I actually noticed an unforeseen effect: the mask lightened my dark circles!! I have like chronic eyebags since I can never seem to get enough sleep and not only do they get extremely dark but they also get very puffy; this mask actually helped with both.

The rest of Tonymoly's panda line is aimed at helping cover up or lighten dark circles (as shown below)
so it really shouldn't have come as a surprise that this product also does the same kind of thing but it completely slipped my mind... It was still a pleasant surprise!

Afterthoughts

The Good:
x Super cute
x Lightens dark circles
x Brightens skin
x Dries quickly
x Smells nice

The Bad:
x No long term effects
x That's literally it

The Verdict
I did quite like this product, especially because of its effects on my eyebags. All I can say is that I do not suggest using this every day. When I used it this often, I began to notice some bumps/breakouts around my forehead and that must've been because my T-zone can get rather oily; it probably wasn't the best to use this moisturizing mask on it daily... So, just dial back the usage to maybe 1-2 times a week and you should be good!

Introduction

Hi,

I'm Drew and I waste a lot of money on skincare products so I decided to make a blog about it. Here I will be posting reviews and such about the things I buy. I hope you enjoy!
